Fraternities use the word "hazing" to describe these acts, but I don't know a general term used by all universities to depict such a day. It might be unique to each university that has this practice.

In the UK there's a term "freshers' day", but it's not particularly associated with initiation rites or "embarrassing acts". It's just a day to welcome newcomers, help them get to know each other, show what's on offer, etc.

Hello Mr W,

Thank you very much for the reply. Isn't it also called orientation day?
