What is the subject in this question, please?

Hi

I need to find the subject, verb and object in the following sentence:

"It was a neat little house".

I looked for the verb first, and it is "was".

This means the subject and object are "It" and "house", respectfully. Can anyone confirm please?

Greetings, the subject is 'It' (with reference forwards - to 'a neat little house' /cataphoric reference/), the verb is 'was' (the only verb in the sentence), and the subject complement is 'a neat little house'. The sentence has no object. Respectfully, Gleb Chebrikoff
