What is the rent or How much..

Hi

While renting a house, a house owner in India expects us to pay 6-10 months of rent in advance.

So if during an enquiry, we need to ask how much we need to pay as rent, and what's the advance amount, how should I frame that question? Will it be -

How much are the rent and advance amounts?

What are the rent and advance amounts?

or something else?

Please help.
