What is the purpose of "on" in this sentence???

Hello,

I hope somebody could explain me what is the use of "on" in this sentence, or if it has been used wrongly. Thank you!!!

" The World Wide Web is the source of information "on" every aspect of our lives from resources for class papers and presentations to chat rooms that allow us to connect with our friends, to MySpace.com that allows us to present ourselves in the ways we choose."
