(1) I cannot think of anything but "to take a caller off hold".
Does this expression, "to take a caller off hold" (or, in general, "to take sb off hold") make sense to you?
Are there other ways to express the opposite of "to put sb on hold"?
(2) Can I say "to unhold a caller" for "to take a caller off hold"? I guess I can't... First, "to unhold" is missing in most major dictionaries (see OneLook Dictionary) ....and marked 'obsolete' in those few where it is listed). Second, I haven't been able to find a single hit with "unhold" in COCA...
