What is the opposite for "light up"?

What is the opposite for "light up"?
I think I can say, "Let's light up the building."
Do you ever say, "Let's light down the building"?

Top answer

No light down ! darken could be used. When a whole building suffers from a power failure, it's in a black-out, but I don't think I've heard "Let's black out the building" or "Let's black the building out".
