What is the official name of the panels (sides) of an open load-carrying body a lorry consists of?

Hallo

I have been looking for the right name of the wooden or metal parts being constituents of the rear part of a lorry intended to protect a cargo from being dropped. Regrettably my heretofore efforts turned out to be ineffective. I am not interested in any slogan terms but the official ones (dictionary) only. Could anyone be of help and dispel my doubts? I would be grateful for providing a reliable source of information to get a right reference.

But how about the names referring to the ones located on the left-hand and the right-hand side of a vehicle?
