what is the meaning of this sentence? Especially when there are two verbs in one sentence, and what is the meaning of the part following the comma. Thanks!

The court held: ‘The injunction order appealed from should be modified so as to cover only lamps made an infringement of the second claim of the patent, the other claims not having been infringed.’

I can't see how this sentence makes sense. My guess is that "made an infringement" should read "made in infringement". "made in infringement of the second claim of the patent" would then modify "lamps".

  • "the other claims not having been infringed" means that A had not infringed any of B's patent claims other than the second claim, where A and B are the two parties in dispute.
