Sorry I had better make myself clearer.
When you wrote this sentence, 'Please supply some context for a more specific definition'. I assumed they were directions for an exercise.
Eg.
Directions: Please supply some context for a more specific definition.
They were wearing elegant clothes.
They were well-dressed.

Hi Mister Micawber,
So sorry I got it completely mixed up.

Before the listening I always explain my students some of the vocabulary that is new for them.
Eg.
Let's say, they don't know the word 'sort'.
I give them this explanation on the page previoulsly to the listening.

What sort of person is he?
Word class: noun.
Synonyms for ‘sort’ can be ‘kind’ and ‘type’.

After that they do the listening.
These are the instructions. 'Write down why Ikuko felt that way'. ('that way' here means 'nervous')
And this should be their answer more or less:
Because that wasn’t the sort of place they usually came to. (place: the restaurant was an expensive one)

On the top of the page they have these target words. The given numbers are there to inform them when they'll need to use the target words. In answer 3 they'll need 'held'. In number 4 'arranged', and so on.

	Number:	3	4	5	5	8
	Target word:	held	arranged	well-dressed	softly	sort

That's why I've asked about the term 'target word'?
