What is the meaning of "readier hearing" ?

Hi,

I read this passage in Economist, Feb 28th issue

"What to do about this sickness caused by other people’s wealth? Swingeing taxes on the rich, or smaller differences in pay in the first place, say the authors, citing Sweden and Japan as instances of the two alternatives. A decade ago even left-wing politicians were “intensely relaxed about people getting filthy rich”. Now, as it becomes clearer that some of the rich got that way by theft, the idea that they have also caused injury more subtly will gain a readier hearing. "

I couldn't understand the meaning of 'readier hearing'. I looked up in the dictionary too, but couldn't get any idea.

Though I understand that hearing here means ' a court proceedings' but its use with readier has confused me.

Please explain this word to me.

Regards.

I think "readily" is an adverb, while "ready" is an adjective. "Readily" means "easily." "Ready" is usually taken as "timely," but can also mean "easy" or "convenient." I think the comparative "readier" means "easier," in this case.

The writer wants to convey the idea that there are now fewer obstacles to the holding of a fair hearing. It can be mounted with fewer delays.
