Hello. I've looked up many dictionaries, but I still can't find a straight answer. Does it mean lay me down as in "give me up", or as in "put me down"? Thank you. Note: I might have actually posted this already, but I can't tell because of how long it's been taking to show up.

The speaker/singer appears to be asking the person addressed to place her in a lying position in water so that she may drown herself. She appears to be having an off day.
Good, I thought so, even thought not being sure about it is just stupid of me.
I have another question that's a little bit related to the same song: The singer says: "You've been holding on a long time, (and all this longing)", Do you see how the second sentence is incomplete? I often see that in English, isn't that grammatically incorrect?
Don't look for grammatical accuracy (or even sense) in songs. The songwriter is often trying to create an overall impression of meaning, not to write 'correct' English.
