What is the meaning of "blow your own sail"?

Is this a right idiom"blow your own sail."? The other question : Which is right " This land is home for over five hundred kinds of birds." or "This land is over five hundred kinds of birds' home " ? Or both are right? Can the meaning be the same as "Over five hundred kinds of birds, this land is a home of theirs." If not, any grammatical explanation there. Thank you.
