What is the meaning of "alike"?

Though, I checked the meaning of "alike" on online dictionaries, I could not understand the exact meaning which is in line with the following sentence. Therefore, I would really appreciate it if someone could let me know what is the meaning of "alike" in the following sentence.


Restricting cigarette use is beneficial to the health of smokers and non-smokers alike.
