Well, I can't helping protesting that that is a very trivial topic for a project and is of no use in learning the language. I studied Spanish for six years and German for two years, but it never crossed my mind

There are some medical terms and chemical names that are very long indeed, and some words nobody uses except as examples of long words, like floccinaucinihilipicaction and antidisestablishmentarianism. So far, the longest word we've come up with on here that's actually used reasonably often is uncharacteristically. See
