What is the idiom for this meaning?

What is the common English idiom to express a meaning that everything can be discussed and compromised if you treat me with manner, and I will not surrender if you treat me without manner.


Just like the idiom for the meaning that if you don't work hard, you will gain nothing is -- No Pain, No Gain

Hi It doesn't look as if anyone is coming up with a contemporary idiom. It may be that there isn't one at the moment The best I can do is 'jaw-jaw, not war-war'. This is attributed (in various forms) to British Prime Ministers Winston Churchill and Harold Macmillan, mid-twentieth century.
