what is the English slang term for a soccer striker who somehow manages to miss the goal even when it is nearly impossible :-)

Hi,

(1) what is the right "appelation" for soccer strikers who manage to miss the goal even when the ball is just inches from the goal line? :-)
(2) from sports to the military... What is the slang term for very bad run/rifle shooters?

My Rus-Eng dictionary suggests "muff" and "bush-leaguer" but I guess neither of them meets the definition?

there is no slang for a fumbler in American soccer, the Yanks don't admit to mistakes except to say 'unearned'; and as far as indoor shooting goes, you are either 5 in the center or you're a 'bad shot', there's no middle ground there; while in skijoring, where the wind, sun and exertion are expected to affect your precision, now you're back to American unwillingness to admit mistakes, so there is
