What is the difference between Unctuous, Oily, Smarmy and Soapy?
Hi, these 4 words are often grouped together as being synonyms and having the same meanings. However, I don't buy the idea that all four words mean the same thing. I believe (please correct me if I'm wrong), that all 4 words are similar but contain different shades of meaning. I believe that there are subtle difference in the usage and context of these 4 words and I'm just trying to understand what those differences are. Could someone please help me with this? Please highlight the differences in meaning for me if you could. Thank you so much ????
