Super is informal, meaning "grand" and often used in names:

The Super Bowl (American football game which chooses the best team of the year)
The Super Dome (Name of a large football stadium)
Super collider - large scientific instrumet for detecting sub-atomic particles.
Super nova - a very heavy star that explodes and brightens by a factor of 100000 times or more. The explosion ends its life as a normal star.

Super hero - a comic book figure of a man / woman with extraordinary skills (Superman is one of these characters)

Super Tuesday - a voting day last year in the US where so many states held presidential primary elections that it determined the most likely candidates.

Supermarket - a large store selling all kinds of food items

Super is frequently used in everyday speech. Some might say that it is over-used.
That was a super idea you had! They have a super sale at the shop today; there are extra special prices. Be careful of the soup - it is super hot.

Superb is used in more formal writing, meaning elegant, excellent, top quality, the best. It is used in everyday speech, but it is for much more serious occasions than "super".

He is a superb writer. The dinner at the restaurant last night was superb.
