What is the difference between preposition 'in' and 'at'

Dear All,

May I check one question with you: what is the difference between preposition 'in' and 'at', because I am confused to remember 'in this case' is the right usage rather than 'at this case'.
Thanks for your response in advance.

I have the same problem with French. There is no sense to it. You just have to memorize the common ones, learn the rules for the complicated ones, and hope it will all come together one day.
