what is the difference between (it is no use) and ( there is no use )

what is the difference between (it is no use) and ( there is no use ) for example why we use it is no use in this sentence.( it would be lovely to go to Japan but it is no use thinking we can) .. and we use ( there is no use waiting any longer .they are clearly not coming) in second one.

My versions would be: there's no use in doing someting and it's no use to do something. I have nothing to back up my choices as correct; they just seem natural to me. And, they mean exactly the same thing.
