What is the difference between another and other?

I have a few sentences that have to be checked. If you need to take a train then go to the transfer point. And if you need a bus, you have to go to another tranfer point. (There I use another with a singular countable noun) But I have arrived from other city (I don't know precisely but it seems to me that the right variant here is "other") Grammar books say that "other" is used only with plural countable and non-countable nouns. But here we have city as singular countable, is it right to use other?

Also I've seen a door plaque where was written such a thing "Please use other door" But door is singular and countable, so why other?

Signs and labels often omit determiners.

So you would say "I'm coming from another city?" Just some uncertain city is meant )

Whether or not I would use the present progressive would depend on context but I might say 'from another city', though I'd be more likely to name the city.

"attach goods, container or package of goods, label or other document " Why other is used there? Document is a countable thing
