What is the correct use of "me" or "I" in the sentence below?

Please advise which is grammatically correct.

I said, "Mother and me are a good team." or I said, "Mother and I are a good team.?

I am confused whether to use I or me. Need reply ASAP. THANKS. Please reply to Email Removed" mce_href="mailto:Email Removed">Email Removed

My grandson's teacher is giving him a difficult time. Please clarify for me once and for all.
