"(I'm) looking forward to hearing from you." = correct

The word "to" is a preposition here, and we use the -ing form of verbs after a preposition.

"(I'm) looking forward to hear from you." = wrong

Hi,

The standard form after 'look forward to' is usually the 'ing' construction as in: I look forward to seeing/hearing/meeting from you again. and not the infinitive.
