What is the correct form of this sentence

I am trying to draft a letter thanking a business partner who spent time with me. The sentence suggested to me was

" We are appreciating your spending time with us to get to know [my company name] and the opportunities within our company. "

I think the above sentence is wrong and I shoud replace it with following sentence

" We appreciate the time you spent with us to get to know [my company name] and the opportunities within our company."

Can you please suggest if my change is good or any better forms to convey this meaning?

You say that you are writing to a "business partner" - but are you writing to a potential business partner (i.e. a potential client) ? If this is the case the sentence above should be word

Based on what is written here, I would reword it to something like this:

We appreaciate your time visiting XYZ and your interest in exploring business opportunities with our company....
