What is the correct choiceand why?

Haven't you finished your task ................? Good work. Well done.
a- already b- yet
In my view point, the right option is (yet) because it is a question and the one who is asking wants to know whether the addressed person has finished his or her work or not.
What is your opinion as some other people said it is ( already) not ( yet ).
Thanks in advance.

The question seems misconceived. ", but this implies that the speaker is dissatisfied that the task has not been completed. It doesn't make sense to follow it with "Good work.

The question seems misconceived. Considering the first sentence alone, it should be "Haven't you finished your task yet?", but this implies that the speaker is dissatisfied that the task has not been completed. It doesn't make sense to follow it with "Good work. Well done."

This would make sense:

Have you finished your task already? Good work. Well done.

You mean, it is better to say ( Have you finished your task already?) not ( Haven't.......................already?) Nevertheless, if it were in a test as I have written it in my first post, which one would you choose ( already or yet )? Thanks.

Haven't you finished your task yet? -- expected answer "no": the task should have been completed by now, but the speaker sees/expects that it has not
Haven't you finished your task already? -- not natural
Have you

Words you wish to highlight should not go in parentheses. You should learn to use quotation marks properly.

some other people said it is "already", not "yet
