What is the best server-side programming language for web developing?

I think PHP is better than ASP.Net or Java. It is simple, open source but very powerful

For server side programming, I would recommend you to consider Python, Ruby, PHP and Node.js. I personally prefer PHP specifically Joomla (Content Management System) because its open-source, embedded, no compatibility issues during cross platform environments, stability and strong user communities..
