What is the best grammar book to buy?

I'm sorry, but you picked the wrong person to answer that! I haven't been in a position to evaluate the grammar textbooks that are on the market for quite a while. I refer to Introduction to the Grammar of English by Huddleston, The English Verb by Palmer, and English Verb Classes and Alternations by Levin, but these are not comprehensive grammar books, nor are they designed to teach English to non-natives.
