What is the best adjective to describe a man like this

What adjective best describes a music teacher who tells his students to do the same practice over and over again, especially when the students feel he's annoying. Persistent? Stubborn? Or maybe, meddling?

He recognizes how badly the students are playing and knows they'll have to practice a lot more if they don't want to embarrass themselves at the next concert!

Yes, that's right. The teacher is prudent and perceptive, but he's an unappreciated character for the students.
