Scientists and the news media are presenting even more evidence of climate change. Governments can’t be expected to solve this problem. It is the responsibility of individuals to change their lifestyle to prevent further damage. What are your views
Nowadays, more and more people are talking about the issue of climate change and it implications. Whether it is the responsibility of the government or the individuals is still debatable. I do think that both the government and the people share common roles to solve this problem and I will present here my reasons for that.
Firstly, government have the major role to curb the negative effects of climate change because it has the authority to control the society. it can impose the rules to limit the private vehicle use and to enhance the public transportation by lowering its price. Government can strictly penalize the illegal logging perpetrators who are causing forest destruction leading to deterioration of air quality, which becomes richer in carbon dioxide and poorer in oxygen.
Secondly, because these environmental problems are mainly concerned by human mistakes, so individuals also should share side by side with the government even through minor actions like using electricity wisely, throwing trash in the recycle bin, buying environmentally friendly products or planting trees in the street. Recent research in three states in USA indicated that the rate of consumption plastic products coincided with the level of air pollution, both were decreased by about 12% in 2005 and many experts explain this by the individual’s attempts to preserve mother earth.
To conclude, although I agree that the government role is indispensable to control climate change, I do assert that the individual’s role is of no less importance and both of them should do his part to help us living a better life on earth.
