What is the answer to this riddle?

I need help with figuring out the answer to one riddle regarding a book character. The riddle is written in Slovak language so I am not really able to translate it word after word and convey the same message but the key parts are these:

1. The surname of the author starts some kind of a list

2. If you say the first name of the author backwards, three fourths of the name will mean heavens or sky (not sure, language barrier, if you know what I mean)

3. the answer to the riddle, however, is a name of the character in one of that above mentioned author's books

4. the main character protects and helps in the streets of London

5. the main character has a special kind of charm, magic, spell attached to him
