What is that condition called when your upper and lower jaws are not aligned?

Hi

What is that condition called when your upper and lower jaws are not aligned? Your upper and lower lips also become out of alignment, they don't fit together. And this condition mostly follows an attack of paralysis. Please let me know. Thanks.

There are many conditions that result from misalignment (occlusion) of the jaw. Because you mention "paralysis", two spring to mind: damage to the temporomandibular joint (and resulting idsorders) and Bell's Palsy. Without further data or a diagnosis it is very difficult to provide further information.

  • Was there a stroke or other cardiovascular disease involved?

Hi John

I'm sure it's Bell's Palsy. Actually, some days ago I came across a person who was affected by this condition. Thanks a lot for the help.

Best wishes
