What is Subject verb agreement?

I am not a native English speaker. And i don't understand what is wrong when people point out subject verb agreement mistake.

Here's the general idea.

These show correct agreement for the verb "to be".

Subject .......... Verb

..... I ................... am
.... he ................. is
.... they ............. are

So it's wrong to say "I is" or "he are" or "they am", and so on.
