What is Parcel of Land or Extended area of Land

My dictionary shows "Parcel of Land" means "an extended area of land", but I dont know what an extended area of land either.

Please help me with this.

Thanks Vorpar. Do you mean an extended means some amount, so an extended area of land means some amount of land?
