What is it called

Hello,

In English what do you call something in between the main activity, menu, show, etc? For example in NBA matches there are usually cheerleaders performances during the break and the match itself is the main show.

Thanks

Well, "break", the word you used, is one possibility. Others are "interval", "interlude" or "intermission".
