What is he talking about?

Starting from 1:38,
Why would he bring up that finger-snapping thing to emphasize that he was baffled about why people'd be insterested in his nationality?

I can't understand a lot that he says: he speaks fast and his enunciation is unclear. However, I can tell you that the finger-snap is just a generally-recognized gesture indicating 'magical transformation'. In this case, it is a transformation between him and an electric fan.
