What is 'Companion Profession'?

Dear English Native Teachers,I don't understand the meaning of 'Companion Profession'.This is used in the technical document as follows;These processes are applicable to one industry, country, or companion profession.As I've never heard such words before, would you please let me know the meaning of the words?I'll appreciate your cooperation.
