Could you please to look at the following sentence.
The two strangers start talking and “come to” realize that they are both employed in the same company.

Is this sentence correct in grammar? And what does “come to” mean here? Without “come to” being placed here, does the sentence convey different meanings.

Does the sentence "They start talking and realize that they work in the some company." have the same meaning as the sentence with "come to" does?
