1, w ith dripping is used to described the kids or the patatoes? Not sure about dripping here, I haven't heard this myself before - if it were 'dressing' then it would make more sense... Having said that, it could mean dripping water from the potato because it wasn't cooked or taken from the boiling water properly and so water is on the plate - not very nice and suggests the cook doesn't take care (similarly the compared poets don't either)!
