What is 'be' in future continuous tense ?

hello, i am mizan sinha, this is my first post.
I will be making a cake.
in this sentence, I = subject, will = be verb, make = verb, a cake = extension. but my question is that, what is 'be' in this sentence. Is it functional structure or not . answer please......
