What is a word for raido noises?

Hello,

I would like to word describing the sound of radio noises, something like "Jijijic" maybe?

Also, where can I found words describing various sounds? Probably not in the dictionary :-)

Thanks in advance.

What a great answer and a great site! Exactly what I want.

By the way, it doesn't seem to have the sound word for static.

How do you write it for radio static?

And in a case, I don't know the word, can I just make up a word in the way I think it sounds?

You should just call it "static." Don't say something like "zzshkzz."

You can referr to the "hissing" of the static on the radio, if you think you need to.
