What is a good grammar and punctuation book?

Can I please get suggestions because I really need to buy one. I was thinking about purchasing The Blue Book of Grammar and Punctuation by Jane Straus; then I read the negative comments on Amazon which made me change my mind....

Any suggestions for a similar book that is not very pricey and has good points in it about basic grammar???

Thank You

I am on the mailing list for the online 'weekly excerpt' from this book. Ms Straus passed away two years ago, and I would like to be supportive, but I agree that much of the advice offered in the book is overly prescriptive or no longer in agreement with current practice. For basic grammar, a much better choice is the latest edition of Michael Swan's Practical English Usage .
