What is a god sent?

Airline industry's high fares allowed new discount carriers to swoop in. JetBle Airways and Britain's Ryanair, even if spantan, seem positively god sent.

What is a "god sent".

What's wrong with a spantan?

The word is "spartan" not "spantan". "Spartan" is a reference to the old Greek city of Sparta, which had a reputation for despising comfort. Spartan conditions then are those with only the smallest degree of comfort.
