What if he won't / doesn't

Hi

We're going to buy him a present, but what if [won't / doesn't] like it?

Isn't this sentence a conditional? I'm not sure about the choice in brackets.

Thanks!

MustAsk Isn't this sentence a conditional? No. It is just an 'if' clause which is not a condition for any other action.

  • The present for future in a dependent clause is more usual among native speakers, but 'won't' is not wrong.
