What I did is/was wrong

Is or Was?
I just intentionally bend an iPhone 6 plus at an Apple store. I know what I did is/was wrong, so I'll never do it again.

In this sentence, what I did was done in the past, so maybe the past tense should be used there, but intentionally bending an iPhone 6 plus at the Apple store seems always wrong, so maybe I should use is because it is always wrong.

eg. I know X is wrong.

I knew X was/is wrong.
