What have you learned today?

What did you learn today? VS. What have you learned today?

The latter one does make sense? If so, what is the difference between them and when can we use the latter one? Thank you so much as usual and take good care.

Thank you and then exactly when can we use the latter? In the middle of classes? Or Right after the classes are finished or either sentence is fine but the first is clearer? Thank you for your help and time as usual.
