What happened it? What happened to it?

I often (but not always) leave out 'to' when I'm asking what to something.

What happened it? What happened her?

I've no idea where I picked it up (or rather, dropped it). I'm Irish so I kind of guessed it's just how we talk but now I'm not even sure if it's an Irish thing or just me! The only reason it's been brought to my attention is because my boyfriend pointed it out.

I can't seem to find anything that proves it right or wrong...
