See, here's the thing. I would use both, but I don't understand why there are two different ways of expressing it. Shouldn't the first one be:

What else was there I wante

Well, you should very well know by now that in English there are often several ways to express the same idea.

This is fine, too. Native speakers would say any of your sentences.
