what does "wouldn't have" mean?

As in this, "Your father was in love with a redhead. Lucky for me, she wouldn't have anything to do with him."
What does the last sentence mean?
I read it like this "I'm lucky because she is now out of his life and does have anything to do with him"
So what's the difference here between "she wouldn't have anything to do with him' and 'she does have anything to do with him"

Top answer

'To not have anything to do with someone' is a fixed phrase that means 'to avoid someone and his concerns completely'. Only the negative form is in use.
