what does 'with regards to the talk' mean?

I saw this phrase in an application form. The writer began his letter like this:' With regards to the talk, I am writing to seek for the opportunity in your company'. I don't understand what he wanted to express when he used 'with regards to the talk'. Moreover, I think' the opportunity' is not correct here, is 'an opportunity to work in your company' better?

' With regards to the talk ' means concerning about the talk, he relates an activity ( talk ) that has taken place in his effort to get a job.

' the opportunity ' is correct since he already mentioned about the specific job in association with the 'talk'.

I read this as a thesaurus-use error. I assumed he meant "further to our conversation" (further to - with regards to, talk - conversation).

just wanna point out something... isn't it that we use "regards" if it is preceded by as? and if it is "regard", it is fllowed by with.

As regards our convertation...

With regard to our conversation...

Much better isn't it?

"with regards to the talk" would be correct if there were no "s" on the end of regard(s). In this context regard(s) means "best wishes!" Visitor
