What does 'We keep both my hands above the blanket' mean?

Hello1 It's a phrase from a song. And I can't get the meaning.The whole phrase says: 'We keep both my hands above the blanket when the light's out'.

I have to say it's weird. It doesn't keep the meaning of the song.

Its a masturbation reference.. ie.. she needs to 'release' (uncontrollably)

(thats why her hands would be under the blanket)
